Our club (Haoran Judo Club) traces its origins to a judo class held at the Caritas Tsuen Wan Community Center in the 1960s. It was officially established as a registered organization with the Hong Kong Government in 1995,Over the years, we have been dedicated to developing and promoting the sport of judo. Our students have won numerous awards in various international and local competitions, and we have collaborated with major organizations, schools, and television media to co-host a wide range of judo activities, such as training camps, technical consulting, and demonstration performances.
Our club is a member of the Hong Kong Judo Association, and our coaching staff consists of several coaches certified by the Hong Kong Judo Association.

For ages 2–5
Through a variety of games, we help children engage all their senses and unlock their potential. Physical training enhances brain development, strengthens children’s physical development, and improves their cognitive and social skills, thereby supporting their overall physical and mental development.

Target Audience: Ages 6–12
Judo is dedicated to developing students’ physical fitness and improving their character and behavior, while guiding them to use their strength effectively. Judo rules prohibit direct punches, kicks, and attacks to the head, which helps prevent students from relying too heavily on physical force. Group activities also foster empathy and enhance communication skills. Through competition, children can effectively develop goal-setting skills, self-confidence, and resilience.
Outstanding students will also be recommended by our association and have the opportunity to participate in training sessions for the Hong Kong Children’s National Team organized by the Hong Kong Judo Association.

Target Audience: Ages 13–18
During adolescence, when young people are in their formative years, having the right values is of the utmost importance. Judo is based on the fundamental philosophy of “making good use of one’s energy for the mutual benefit of oneself and others.” Its purpose is to train and educate both the mind and body, rather than simply focusing on winning or losing in competition. Through rigorous training, students hone their willpower and self-discipline; through group activities, they strengthen their self-care skills and communication abilities; and through athletic practice, they improve their learning abilities and time management skills, which in turn enhances their academic performance—all of these elements complement one another.
Outstanding students will also be recommended by our club for the opportunity to participate in training sessions for the Hong Kong Junior National Team organized by the Hong Kong Judo Association, China.

Judo is a full-body aerobic exercise that also incorporates strength training. Regular practice can effectively improve cardiovascular fitness, build muscle, and enhance body tone. Through training and competition, participants can also develop concentration, willpower, and the ability to reflect on their own performance, while learning to share their experiences with teammates to help each other improve.
Outstanding students will also be recommended by our association and have the opportunity to participate in training sessions for the Hong Kong Youth Representative Team organized by the Hong Kong Judo Association.

Target Audience: Ages 25 and up
Because judo training is highly demanding, it not only helps improve cardiovascular fitness but also effectively burns excess fat, tones muscles, and improves body contours, with remarkable results.
Age and body type are not barriers to learning judo; coaches will tailor training methods and techniques to each student’s age and physical condition.

Eligibility: Open only to current students
Similar to the poomsae in Taekwondo and the routines in Chinese martial arts, the prescribed training methods in judo are called “kata.”
Judo kata impose strict requirements on practitioners regarding techniques, sequences, etiquette, and other details, with the aim of teaching the principles of judo techniques through a structured approach. Judo’s founder, Master Jigoro Kano, believed that the relationship between free practice and kata was analogous to that between composition and grammar; thus, kata practice is indispensable to judo.
